David was a tutor who helped out Haley as shown in "Mother Tucker". The two ended up making out, forcing Claire to make Haley break up with Dylan.
In "Bixby's Back", Haley broke up with David by email because he blew her off to study for a big exam on Valentine's Day, and she got back with Dylan.
