Jerry is the second husband and widower of DeDe Pritchett. He was previously married to another woman, and he ended up burning their house down. He also has a son named Carl with his first wife, who has a partner of his own. He is a Buddhist.
Biography[]
In "Good Grief", DeDe, was revealed to have gone on a trip with her Woman's Group. On the trip's final morning, she had apparently passed peacefully in her sleep.
He told Claire, Mitchell and Jay the news over phone, promising to call back if he received any further details.
In "Putting Down Roots", he drove down to Jay's house to give him, Claire and Mitch the final gifts DeDe had left them. He sat in his parked car in the driveway, feeling sad and being unable to move on. Gloria, feeling sympathetic, invited him inside the house, ignoring Jay's pleas.
He told Jay that whenever he and DeDe got into an argument, he would massage her shoulders and tell her that she was right until she'd calm down. He encouraged Jay to follow his Buddhist methods when it came to making things right with Gloria. When he turned out to be right, he made Jay apologise to the tree DeDe had gotten grown from her ashes.
After Jay was done apologising, Jerry started screaming at the tree about how Gloria returns Jay's apologies while DeDe never did. He continued screaming until Jay took him away.
