Jon Polito was an American actor,also known for playing Da Fino in the 1998 Coen brothers film The Big Lebowski. On September 1, 2016, he died from battle with cancer.
He played Earl, Jay Pritchett's biggest business rival, Earl Chambers in "Won't You Be Our Neighbor", The Closet Case" and "The Cover-Up".
Biography[]
Polito was born on December 29, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Delaida "Dee" (née Pompei) Polito. He has an older brother and sister, Rosemary Simpson and Jack Polito, an animator. After acting at high school he studied theater at Villanova University.
Polito was openly gay and was married to fellow actor Darryl Armbruster on October 16, 2015, sixteen years after they first met.
He died from cancer on September 1, 2016, at the City of Hope Hospital, where he was being treated for multiple myeloma. He was replaced as Earl Chambers by Robert Costanzo.
