Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer is an American actress.
Biography
Bowen portrays Claire on Modern Family. She has starred on many TV shows like Ed and Boston Legal. The movies she is known for are Happy Gilmore, Joe Somebody, and Crazy on the Outside. On Modern Family, she has been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series five times, winning in 2011 and 2012. Bowen was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Jack and Susie Luetkemeyer and is the middle child of her older sister Molly and younger sister Annie. She attended Roland Park Country School and later graduated from Brown University in 1991 with a B.A. degree in Renaissance studies. She married Scott Phillips, a real-estate investor, when she was starring as schoolteacher "Carol Vessey" on the TV show Ed. The two have been married since September 2004. They became the parents of a boy, Oliver McLanahan Phillips, on April 10, 2007 in Los Angeles. They also have 2 twins, John and Gus, born on May 8, 2009, with whom she was visibly pregnant when shooting the pilot for Modern Family. She also recently experienced a crazy accident where her the two twins put hot sauce in her eyes.
