Nina Patel is Alex's classmate Sanjay Patel's mother. She meets Claire and Phil in a movie theater when they come to see a movie which telecast was in French while Phil and Claire see Croctopus in 3D. Nina is a professor. She appears again in the episode Under Pressure, while Claire is going to all of Alex's classes.
