Nolan Gould is an American actor known for portraying the youngest Dunphy sibling Luke on the ABC sitcom Modern Family.
Biography[]
Nolan Gould is an American actor who has had roles on films such as Montana, Space Buddies, Hysteria, Friends with Benefits, Ghoul, The To Do List, and Field of Lost Shoes. He has also appeared on various TV series like Out of Jimmy's Head, Good Luck Charlie, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour. As of now, he is best known for his role as the Dunphy youngest sibling Luke Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family.
Early Life & Education[]
Gould was born in New York City, to Angela and Edwin Gould. Shortly after his birth, due to his father's military career, he and his parents moved to Phenix City, Alabama, and when Gould was five years old, the family moved to California. He has an older brother, Aidan (born 1997).
Despite his name, Gould is not Jewish. [1]
Nolan is a member of Mensa, and as of 2012, had accelerated ten grades in school. He stated on The Ellen Degeneres Show that he has an IQ of 150. During the 2012 summer, at age 13, he graduated from high school by taking a General Educational Development (GED) test and proceeded to take online college courses until the age of 18. He is now apparently considering applying to film college to learn more about the producing side of TV and film.
Career[]
Gould began his career at age 3 doing commercials. Recent films include leads in the features Ghoul (based on the novel by Brian Keene) and Space Buddies.
As of the 2014/15 TV Season, Gould will make over $70,000 per episode for his role in Modern Family. Other television credits for him include Eleventh Hour and the movie of the week, Sweet Nothing in My Ear.
Personal Life[]
Nolan enjoys rock-climbing in his spare time and even has an instagram page dedicated to his love of rock climbing (@free.nolo). He is a democrat and a supporter of Bernie Sanders which he said on an instagram live. In the 2020 presidential election, he voted for Joe Biden.
