Not In My House is the twelfth episode of the Modern Family series. It was aired on January 13, 2010 and it was directed by Chris Koch.
Summary
Gloria plots to get rid of Jay's new "dog butler"; Cameron's helpful nature gets himself in trouble with Mitchell; Claire asks Phil to punish their son for looking at nude pictures, not knowing they're Phil's.
Synopsis
This episode revolves around misunderstandings.
Claire finds a dirty picture on the computer and assumes it's Luke's doing - Phil doesn't necessarily correct her and avoids telling her the truth. Haley believes her sister has read her journal, when everyone but Alex actually had. Luke talks about the journal when Claire confronts him over the image on the computer, and Claire misunderstands what Luke is confessing. Jay brought home a statue of a dog dressed as a butler and named it Barkley - Gloria is spooked by it and wants it removed. All the while, the way Jay relates to the butler statue and the positions Gloria finds him in cause more misunderstandings. Additionally, Cameron and [Mitchell]'s inability to speak Spanish causes much confusion when Cam tries to cheer up their disconsolate gardener.
