Spanks for the Memories[1] is the fifteenth episode from Season 9 of Modern Family, it aired on March 7, 2018.
Plot Summary[]
When Jay overhears Gloria on the phone talking about something, he assumes she is frustrated in the bedroom. When he attempts to light the spark again by giving her exactly what he thinks she wants, he realizes he might have made a mistake. Meanwhile, Mitchell gets an amazing new job, and he and Cam throw a party to rub it in their friends' faces so they can no longer give him "the look of pity."[2]
Episode Description[]
Jay mistakenly believes that Gloria is frustrated in the bedroom and attempts to spank her only to have her spank him back. Gloria explains that she actually wanted to reinstate spanking for Joe as he disobeys, something that she and Javier tried with Manny.
Meanwhile, Claire goes to Mitch and Cam's party organized in Mitch's honor. But Mitch loses his job and makes fool of himself.
In a third subplot, Alex helps Phil against a woman who bullies him in his shop.
