Stupak was Luke Dunphy and Manny Delgado's loud and strict former basketball coach.
In "Benched", Manny's parents, Jay and Gloria Pritchett and Luke's parents, Claire and Phil Dunphy discussed Stupak's teaching style. Jay thought it was good that he was hard on the kids, but the others thought he was mean. At a game that day, Jay noticed him yelling at the team and came around - he and Phil confronted Stupak and he subsequently quit. After he left, Jay and Phil fought over the role of coach.
