Thanksgiving Jamboree is the seventh episode from Season 8 of Modern Family, it aired on November 16, 2016.

Plot Summary[]

It's going to be a Thanksgiving jamboree at the Pritchett-Tucker home this year, and Cameron has spared no expense. While Phil tries to get used to Rainer Shine dating his daughter, Haley has to break it to her dad that she would rather spend the rest of her holiday with her new boyfriend than staying for the traditional family football game. Meanwhile, Jay has to figure out a way to keep his blood pressure down on one of the most stressful days of the year, as Gloria tries to show Joe that animals are our friends. Finally, Alex and Dwight get to know each other a little better than her Uncle Cam would like, while Mitchell has to stop clowning around and tell Cam the truth. [1]

Episode Description[]

The whole family is gathered at Mitch and Cam's place for Thanksgiving.

Mitchell and Claire have a brother sister talk in which Mitchell admits he threw away Cam's Fizbo costume. But he later learns that Cam used all their saving money to create the perfect Thanksgiving while they planned to travel to Hawaï with it.

Gloria is trying to show Joe that animals are sweet which works out and Joe becomes friendly with the petting zoo goat.

Phil has a hard time accepting the fact that Haley and Rainer are dating. At the same time Cam is trying to separate Dwight and Alex from each other over his fear that Alex is still contagious with mono and will infect Dwight. Phil's dislike of Haley's relationship even goes so far that he tackles Rainer during the annual family football game later that day.

As for Jay, he recently fond out that he suffers from high pressure and has to pay attention to his health. Throughout the party he tries to sneakily eat snacks but is caught by Lily who on Glorias orders is tasked with keeping an eye on Jay. He. After Cam upsets Jay, he, Phil and Phil and Claire's neighbor Jerry whom the Dunphy brought to Mitch and Cam's because he had nobody to spend  Thanksgiving, with, go to a pharmacy to get aspirin where they run into the lawyer who was both Jay's and Jerry's ex wives divorce attorneys. The lawyer has a heart attack and Phil tries to revive him. Jay and Jerry tries to stop phil and Phil is accidentally electrocuted. It turns out The lawyer just had a malaise and woke up by himself, but "to be safe" Jay electrocutes him out of spite.

After Manny saves Luke from a goat related accident, Luke admits that his new position as student president took over his head and apologies to Manny for being a jerk to him.
