Plot Summary[]
Phil and Claire realize that Alex may be more self-sufficient in college than they give her credit for when they drop in for a quick visit. Meanwhile, Manny is determined to avoid a long tearful goodbye after Gloria and Jay move him into his college dorm. Mitch may have accidentally accelerated a planned renovation, and Haley gets an unexpected opportunity when she befriends a wealthy lady member at the country club.
Episode Description[]
Alex begins her sophomore year at Caltech where her parents discover an unexpected change in their “scatterbrained” daughter of theirs, and they resolve to uncover its cause.
Manny refuses to say goodbye tearfully to his family but a series of mishaps obliges him to do so.
Luke and Haley are now working together at Jay's country club, where Haley must choose between her obligations to family and the promise of a glamorous life at work.
Mitchell and Cameron accidentally burn their kitchen which gives them an opportunity at remodelling, but not before a series of finger-pointing as to who started the fire ensues.
