The Long Goodbye[1] is the second episode from Season 9 of Modern Family, it aired on October 4, 2017.

Plot SummaryEdit

Phil and Claire realize that Alex may be more self-sufficient in college than they give her credit for when they drop in for a quick visit. Meanwhile, Manny is determined to avoid a long tearful goodbye after Gloria and Jay move him into his college dorm. Finally, Mitch may have accidentally accelerated a planned renovation, and Haley gets an unexpected opportunity when she befriends a wealthy female member at the country club.

Episode DescriptionEdit

Alex has her prior to last year at Caltech and embarrasses herself in front of her parents.

Manny refuses to say goodbye tearfully to his family but a series of mishaps obliges him to do so.

Also, Luke and Haley work together now at Jay's country and Haley must choose between family and work.

Mitchell and Cameron burn their kitchen which gives them an opportunity.
